CURRICULUM VITAE

Born in Havana (Cuba) in 1988. She started her musical studies in piano at 4 years old. At the age of 10 she began to study flute and piano at the Vocational Art School “Paulita Concepcion”. In 2003 she continue her studies at the Conservatory Amadeo Roldan. Thus, she developed her musical skills throughout 9 consecutive years. In Cuba her professors were Iya Mezenova, Eduardo Hernández Sofía, Luis Mustelier, Rafael Lay, Teresita Menéndez, Dunia Quartaruolo, and Guido López-Gavilan. Claudia graduated in 2007.

Established in Brazil since 2010 and brazilian naturalized in 2019, she was a student of professional flute players such as José Ananias Souza Lopes (OSESP), Marcos Kiehl (Emesp) and Sarah Hornsby (Unesp). In addition, during her Popular Piano Studies course, she had Júlio Cesar Figueiredo as her professor at the Tom Jobim – EMESP. Overall, Claudia accumulates a total of 16 years of studies at several professional music institutions. She has participated 2 years in the Emesp Big Band under the conductor Josué dos Santos and in the Latin Music Group coordinated by Master Sizão Machado. Also, she coursed 2 years of the Bachelor in Music Education at UFSCAR.


In Havana, Cuba Caudia participated in severals events such as III Symphonic Orchestras Encounter, XI Havana’s International Guitar Festival, IV Sacred Music Concert Hall Anniversary, and the music festivals “Cubadisco 2007” and “Cubadisco 2009”. In Brazil, as a member of musical groups Pepe Cisneros - Cuba 07 and Batanga & Cia., she participated in 2014 in the project Estação Catraca Livr. Furthermore, she participated in the 6th edition of Conexão Cultural São Paulo at the MIS; in the Virada Cultural: 2013, 2017, and 2018; and Circuito Mostra of Jazz Brasil with performaces in Brasília, Salvador, João Pessoa, and São Paulo. Also, Claudia has participated in the Paraty Latin Festival: 2011 and 2014 editions; in the Ilharriba Festival in Ilhabela – São Paulo: 2014 and 2016 editons, in the Mostra Cultura Musical Brasil -Cuba; in several events promoted by the SESC; and she has performed at diverse well-known clubhouses from São Paulo capital and interior (such as Blue Note SP, Casa de Francisca, Jazz B, etc).

 

She has presented her authoral work in the Latin Jazz Campos do Jordão 2018 at the Claudio Santoro Theater; at the La Vache Blueu in Paris, France; and at the SIM - Semana Internacional de Música de São Paulo. Moreover, she did the closing show along Batanga & Cia. of the FIT 2019 (Rio Preto’s International Theater Festival).

Furthermore, Claudia participated in the X International Flutists Festival (Campinas) and performed with the Youth Symphonic Band of São Paulo’s State. In 2019, she performed with the Orquesta Jazz Sinfónica Brasil in the International Winter Festival Campos do Jordão along with Mônica Salmaso, Carlinhos Brown, Nelson Ayres, Fafá de Belém, Spok, and she performed at Cidade das Artes with Francis Hime.

Claudia has participated in the recording of albums such as “Jorge Ceruto y su Mambo que Sambo”, “Guga Stroeter & Orquestra HB apresentam Zulma e família Stroeter”, "Did You Say Songo?" by Batanga & Cia, among others. She was awarded in several cuban contests in the divisions of soloist and chamber music. Amongst them stand out the “Cuerda Viva” Prize from the Cuban National Television; the “Cubademo 2009” Grand Prize; the “Cubademo 2009” World Music Category Prize; and the Chamber Music, and Wind Chair Prizes given by Amadeo Roldan Conservatory.

Ms. Rivera was the flute instructor in the Project Guri - Santa Marcelina from 2012 until 2018.


Her original work has been selected in two ocassions as part of the digital musical catalogs from the Fábrica de Cultura. She fusions traditional cuban genres and latin jazz with Brazilian influences. In addition to that he develops constant collaborations with various musical groups and artists around the world. ​
